Space Week in Childcare at MAC

Between 6 - 10 October, MAC’s Occasional Childcare will be celebrating Space Week with a range of fun and educational activities as part of its regular occasional childcare programming. Throughout the week, children will explore planets, stars, rockets and astronauts through creative play, stories, and movement.
Highlights will include
Create a galaxy
Children will help create a display of planets and stars within the childcare environment.
Moon dust play
A sensory tray with moon dust, figures and coloured planets to spark curiosity and imagination.
Paint the Milky Way
Using dark paints, moons, stars and circles, children will design their own Milky Way on paper plates.
Rocket making
Cutting, pasting and decorating colourful paper rockets.
Astronaut art and stories
Space-themed colouring sheets and story time with books about astronauts, space and beyond.
Music and movement
Space-inspired music and movement activities to finish the adventure. We can’t wait to welcome you into the space for another week of learning and creativity at MAC.
How to participate
To have your child join in the fun at MAC, simply book them into a childcare session at MAC between 6–10 October 2025. Note, parents and guardians are not able to be in attendance during the Occasional Childcare session.

World Space Week is the largest annual space event in the world, celebrated in more than 90 countries. This year it runs from 4–10 October with the theme “Discovering New Worlds in Space.”
