Daughters of the West Returns to MAC

Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre is proud to once again host the Daughters of the West program in 2025.
Daughters of the West is a free 10-week health program facilitated by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, in partnership with Maribyrnong City Council and community health services across Melbourne’s inner west.
The program empowers women to prioritise their health and wellbeing by providing tools and knowledge to make informed health decisions. We recently caught up with Pinna, one of the program’s 2024 graduates.
“I signed up for knowledge and learning as I saw that the program included talks from professionals in different areas of life. I also joined for some self-care and non-mum time—something for myself, something to fill my cup so my health and wellbeing improved, and then I could be a better mum.” - Pinna
When asked what she enjoyed most about the program, Pinna shared:
“I liked making connections with people, seeing familiar faces every week was welcoming and friendly. This even extended to being out and about and seeing fellow Daughters. It was also really nice to have some downtime to concentrate on myself.”
“I would definitely encourage other women to get involved and I already have. It was fun, local, friendly, and varied. It helped me learn more and shift my mindset around women-based issues, and it brought those conversations to the forefront. Plus, the hoodie is soooo comfy!”
Daughters of the West 2025 starts on Tuesday, 22 July at MAC and while the program is free, spaces are limited, so register today.
If you can’t attend the sessions at MAC, there are other locations across the Inner West.
