Help us make our roads safer for everyone

Published on 28 January 2020

Maribyrnong City Council will now be developing a new Road Safety Plan for the next 10 years.

The vision of the plan will be to work towards zero fatalities and a decrease in all crash injuries within the City of Maribyrnong by 2029.

There will be a focus on four key principles:

  • safer roads through engineering and infrastructure.
  • safer speeds by creating a culture where the community regards speeding as unacceptable as drink driving.
  • safer people through a shared responsibility for the safety of all road users – cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists & drivers.
  • safer shared paths and footpaths.

Feedback will assist Council and key stakeholders in ensuring funding priorities reflect community expectations and that the planned outcomes and education measures reflect our ever-changing city.

To make our roads safer we are inviting our community to help us develop our Road Safety Strategy. Have your say by completing the online survey at

The survey closes Friday 28 February 2020.
