This financial year Maribyrnong City Council has refreshed the BID Grants program and introduced a new initiative called the Business Elevate Program. The premise of this new program is to encourage business to business (B2B) interaction, transactions and support within the City of Maribyrnong.
A total pool of $70,000 has been made available for the Business Elevate Program which will be distributed via 35 vouchers valued at $2000 each. The program is designed so that a selection of local businesses who are located (and registered) in Maribyrnong apply to become “preferred suppliers” to provide their services to other local businesses who need support in order to grow and “elevate” their businesses to the next level.
Business Elevate Program – Applications for Expressions of Interest for Preferred Supplier Businesses

The first stage was a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local businesses who are interested in becoming a “Preferred Supplier” as part of the Business Elevate Program. Local businesses within 12 defined categories were asked to provide a description of the products/services which they are able to provide (valued at up to $2,000*). After undergoing a selection process, businesses were selected to participate in the Business Elevate Program and can be viewed on the Maribyrnong Localised Platform.

The second stage opens the program up for Small Business Owners located within Maribyrnong to apply for a voucher to receive services from the nominated Business Elevate Program - Preferred Suppliers. A total of up to 35 local businesses will be awarded a $2,000 voucher and be matched with their nominated supplier the “preferred supplier list'.
As this is the first time the Business Elevate Program is being introduced, Small Business Owners will be awarded their vouchers on a first in best dressed basis. Therefore the speed of application will be very important. The first 35 eligible businesses that meet all the relevant assessment criteria, will be considered as final and the application process will close. No further businesses will be considered, as the number of $2,000 vouchers is capped at 35 business recipients.
It is advisable that business owners looking to apply for a voucher should carefully consider what their business needs right now in order to grow or evolve, and select the preferred supplier they would like to work with accordingly.
Applications for Small Business Owners to receive a Business Elevate Program $2,000 Voucher will be communicated via the Maribyrnong City Council Business Bulletin, website and social media, and will be processed via the Smarty Grants online applications platform.
To be eligible for a voucher your business must be located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Maribyrnong, and you must have your business registered on the Maribyrnong Localised web platform.
Once you have decided which supplier you want to use you can make an application online via Smarty Grants.
*Note: Vouchers will be for $2,000+GST where the recipient is registered for GST
