Civic Awards

Each year Council holds a civic reception to honor those individuals, businesses and organisations who give so tirelessly to improving the lives of others in the City of Maribyrnong.

Many individuals, community groups and businesses play an important role in community and civic life in the City of Maribyrnong. The Citizen of the Year Award is the highest honor Council can bestow on any individual which recognises the invaluable contributions made by private citizens to the City of Maribyrnong.

Vale Colin 'Col' Paterson

Maribyrnong City Council is saddened by the passing of Colin ‘Col’ Paterson.

Col gave so much to the Braybrook community over the years and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2017. He was a founding member and an integral part of the Braybrook Men’s Shed since its inception nearly ten years ago, including standing as the Club’s President for more than six years.
