Which Kindergarten is right for your child?

In Maribyrnong, families can access kindergarten programs delivered through both sessional and integrated kindergarten to suit the needs of their child and family.  

Eligible families can also access Early Start Kindergarten and the Kindergarten Engagement Program, which provide extra support for children and culturally and linguistically diverse families in our City.

Below you will find:


Kindergarten is available at:

  • Sessional kindergarten at standalone centres - registrations are managed by Council
  • Integrated kindergarten at long day care centres – registrations and enrolments are managed by the service.

To find your nearest sessional kindergarten:

  3. Select the days of the week convenient for you.

Early Start Kindergarten

Early Start Kindergarten is a program providing free or low-cost kindergarten for three-year old children who: 

  • Have had support from child protection
  • Have a refugee or asylum-seeker background
  • Are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Kindergarten Engagement Program

The free Kindergarten Engagement Program helps culturally and linguistically diverse families:   

  • Register for 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten  
  • Access Early Start Kindergarten if you’re a family with a refugee or asylum seeker background  
  • Find local services like playgroups and Maternal and Child Health  
  • Use interpreters
