Nature Strip Gardening Guide
Transform your nature strip into a thriving, low maintenance native garden!
Nature strips play an important role in shaping the look and feel of our streets. Increasing vegetation helps cool urban areas, improves streetscapes and creates more welcoming neighbourhoods. Traditional lawns offer limited environmental benefits. Replacing them with indigenous and native plants can help create vibrant, resilient habitats for both wildlife and people.
To help you on your native nature strip journey, we have developed a planting guide which provides a number of indigenous plants which are appropriate for nature strip planting and adhere to Council's Nature Strip Planting Policy and Guidelines. The guide also provides some tips and tricks for ensuring your nature strip is ready for new plants, and to help with keeping your plants healthy and thriving.
