In 2023, Maribyrnong Council Intercultural Strategy. This plan helps us better connect across cultures. It encourages respect, learning, and building strong relationships between people from different backgrounds.

What is Interculturalism?

Interculturalism is a way of bringing people together. It’s about:

  • Respecting our differences
  • Learning from each other
  • Helping everyone feel like they belong
  • Making sure all voices are heard in the community

It adds to multiculturalism by encouraging more interaction and understanding.

Welcoming Cities

Maribyrnong Services Database

Council has worked with the Western Region Ethnic Communities Council (WRECC), to establish the Maribyrnong Services Database, which provides an extensive and regularly updated list of local services for our diverse community. You can view the database on the WRECC website via the link below.
