Bojagi: The Art of Joining by Hand
Next date: Thursday, 26 February 2026 | 06:30 PM
to 08:30 PM
Join us for a mindful, upcycled hand-stitched construction using flat-felled seams inspired by the Korean bojagi method.
The focus is on process, material awareness, and thoughtful making. Participants will work with reclaimed or offcut fabrics, learning how enclosed seams can transform scraps into strong, reversible cloth.
Each participant will complete a small joined panel while gaining a deeper appreciation of how technique and mindfulness can give new life to existing materials. All materials supplied, and participants will each receive a stitching kit to take home.
Your Presenter Melody is a Melbourne-based textile artist and educator. Melody’s personal textile practice explores slow stitching and hand construction techniques, valuing the tactile engagement of fabric and the quiet rhythm of making by hand.
This event is proudly part of the Maribyrnong Sustainable Living Festival, 2026.
