Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme
Update of Kindergarten Allocations for 2026
Sessional kindergarten offers for 2026 will now be processed on a Thursday each week. Changes to registrations will be accepted up until 4pm on Tuesdays. These rounds will continue while there are vacancies across the municipality.
Our system is currently undergoing maintenance, and we will not be doing allocations this week. We anticipate allocations will resume on Thursday 15 January.
The allocation of kindergarten places is an ongoing process that can change rapidly based on the applications received, and the acceptance or declining of places by families.
For your child to be eligible for community managed sessional 3-year-old kindergarten and 4-year-old kindergarten you must register them on our Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme (CRES).

Second Year of Funded Kindergarten
For a second year of kindergarten the family is not required to complete a registration. The early childhood teacher will provide the Kindergarten Registration Team with a list of the names of the second years and they will enter the children onto the Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme.
The early childhood teacher is responsible for determining (in consultation with the family) a child’s eligibility to receive a second year of funded three or four-year-old kindergarten. A child is eligible to receive one second year of either, but not both three or four-year-old funded kindergarten if:
- The child is observed as having delays in at least two outcome areas of learning and development detailed in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework; and
- The kindergarten program is deemed to be the most appropriate learning program and environment for that individual child, i.e. the child will achieve better outcomes at kindergarten than if they go to school.
