Kindergarten Engagement Program

The CALD Outreach Support Program works directly with families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to support participation in kindergarten and pre-prep. The program provides tailored assistance to help children and families access essential early years services including the below.

Kindergarten registration and enrolment

Assisting families with the registration and enrolment in three-year-old kindergarten, four-year-old kindergarten and Pre-Prep.

Kindergarten attendance

Collaborating with kindergarten teachers and educators to support families who may face barriers to regularly attending kindergarten.

Engagement in local early year's services

Facilitating access to support services in Maribyrnong City Council such as Maternal and Child Health (MCH), playgroups and immunisations.

Support with transition from kindergarten to school

Collaborating with kindergartens, families and schools to ensure smooth transition for children starting school.

Families can self-refer to outreach support using the referral form, service providers can also submit a referral on behalf of the family.
