Footscray Park Western Lawn Event Space Upgrades

Council will soon be undertaking works to improve access to the Western Lawn at Footscray Park. Council will be installing subsurface drains into the swales along the edge of the carpark to reduce water pooling in the swales. Works will involve minor excavation, clearing of the swale, installation of stormwater pipes and drainage gravel, backfilling and reshaping the swale profile before laying of turf.

The below milestones are to be updated following the procurement period 

What are the construction hours?
Contractors will onsite in a fenced off sections of the swale area on weekdays between 7am-5pm or weekends 10am-3pm. 

Will there be any disruptions to the lawn area during the construction period?
There is likely to be minor machinery noise as a result of the works. The field will remain accessible during this period.

Will there be any disruptions to the car park during the construction period?
Some parking bays of the existing carpark will be unavailable from time to time.
