Australian Multicultural Community Services and Volunteer West invite the Maribyrnong community to a community event in celebration of NAIDOC Week 2025.

This year’s NAIDOC theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy which celebrates the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week and focuses on the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors. It emphasises the importance of honouring past achievements while looking forward to a bright future shaped by the next generation.

9.30am Opening speech by Maryanne Tadic, CEO of AMCS, and a welcome from the Mayor of Maribyrnong, Cr Pradeep Tiwari
9.45am Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Robert Ogden (Bunurong, Tyereelore and Trawoolway man)
10am Community planting and Indigenous plant knowledge sharing, First Nations-led art and craft activity
12pm Free sausage sizzle provided by Uncle Bobs Club

 

This is an environmentally conscious event. Parking is limited, so we encourage you to walk, ride, or use public transport if possible. 

This event is delivered in partnership by Council and Friends of Maribyrnong Valley.
