Rusty Berther is best known as being one half of the ARIA award winning musical comedy duo The Scared Weird Little Guys. He is an accomplished writer, musician and comedian, and has recently published a book about his mid-life crisis of going to Antarctica to run a marathon.
The Burundi Drummers hail from one of the smallest and densely populated countries of central Africa. The large group was initiated as a way of keeping immigrants from Burundi connected to their rich culture, steeped in music, while settling into their new home. They have performed at St Kilda Festival and Emerge in the West amongst other events. Their rhythmic beats will provide the tempo for an energetic cultural display of song and dance.
Ali Barter is a Melbourne female solo musician and Indie rock sensation. A former triple j unearthed winner, she debuted at #58 in the 2016 her triple j Hottest 100 and spent the year touring with the likes of City Calm Down, The Jezabels and The Rubens, playing sell-out headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Her sound has been described as compelling where the lush sound of guitars layer over her evocative vocals in memorable songs that capture emotions and a new generation of fans.
Footscray – three–0–double-1
Footscray Three-O-Double-One project is a music and dance collaboration telling the story of Footscray and its evolution and achievements over time. Footscray Three-O-Double-One includes DJ’ing by Skrybe and choreography by BKode.
Sol Nation is the product of Melbourne's communal musical scene - at its heart lies the reggae experience of Paulo Almeida (The Dili Allstars), the rock charisma of Colin Badger (Painters and Dockers), and the fiery ardour of soul mama powerhouse Kattimoni. Their music can be described as a melting pot of Reggae, East Timorese folk song, Cuban Salsa, Latin dance, Afro-Beat, tropical island rhythm, Brazilian Samba and a whole lot of fun.
