Council has refined the McIvor Reserve Dog Park design, with proposed features including separated areas for active and quieter dogs, shelter, and more seating and greenery.

Although the McIvor Reserve Master Plan was endorsed in 2023, the alignment of Bradmill Boulevard has since changed, which provided us an opportunity to expand the design of the dog park layout further west.

Proposed features of the draft Concept Plan for the dog park include three double-gated entrances for safer and easier access to the park, a large open lawn and fetch areas, garden beds and more tree plantings for shade, dog agility activities, and shelter and seating for owners.

Works on the dog park may be staged, with the northern works starting first. The dog park will remain fully fenced during construction and afterwards so dogs can keep playing in a safe space. Funding of this project is supported by a $100,000 State Government grant.

Council recognises that many are passionate about McIvor Reserve and for this conversation we’re keen to understand your thoughts on the updated plan for the dog park. We will share further Master Plan updates, including indoor stadium designs, in the first half of 2026.

We want to know what you think about the Concept Plan and if there are any other features we should consider within the dog park.

Council will be holding three in-person engagement events to hear feedback directly from residents at the dog park on:

  • Tuesday 2 December at 4.30-6pm

  • Saturday 7 December at 9-10.30am

An additional in-person event will be held at the McIvor Reserve playground on Monday 15 December between 4-5pm.

Find out more about how to get involved at yourcityyourvoice.com.au/mcivordogs

Feedback closes midnight Friday 19 December 2025.
