Arts, cultural and heritage organisations delivering programs in Maribyrnong are invited to apply for the next round of Council’s Triennial Arts Partner funding.

The program provides multi-year operational funding to local not-for-profit organisations that contribute to the creative life of the municipality and have a strong track record of producing high-quality creative work and connecting meaningfully with communities. This funding is one of the important ways Council supports the day-to-day running of organisations and the delivery of programs that grow participation in the arts, build the creative workforce and foster the City as a cultural destination.

Through this investment, Council aims to strengthen the sustainability and capacity of the local arts sector while increasing creative opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

Fourteen local arts and cultural organisations were funded in the last round of the Triennial Arts Partner program. Past recipient, Women’s Circus explains the importance of the program: “The security of the Triennial Arts Partner funding has created the conditions for organisational resilience and future planning. This funding allowed us to leverage additional income, and we were able to run our most successful fundraising campaign to date.”

The next round is for program is from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029 and applicants will need to submit a Strategic Plan and budget that covers this timeframe in their application. Eligible organisations must be not-for-profit arts, cultural or heritage organisations based in, or with a significant history of delivering creative programs in Maribyrnong.

To help prospective applicants prepare a strong submission, Council will host a series of information and strategic plan writing workshops. These sessions will provide an overview of the funding guidelines, eligibility requirements and application process, along with practical tips to support organisations in developing their submission.

Applications for the 2026-29 Triennial Arts Partner funding round open at 9am on Monday 16 March 2026 and close midnight on Sunday 10 May 2026.

Applicants are encouraged to review the funding guidelines and discuss their proposal with Council’s Arts and Culture team before submitting an application.
