Music venues in the West are warming up this winter by celebrating the return of West Set from 14 – 23 June.
West Set 2019 is brimming with an awesome array of unique gigs, shows and special events taking place in one of Melbourne’s most up and coming live music precincts, the West.
Focusing on bringing music to the City’s beloved pubs, bars, cafes, art houses and restaurants, West Set aims to showcase the best the West has to offer.
Over 30 FREE events are programmed and within walking distance of each other and Footscray Station, making the West Set experience both inexpensive and convenient, not to mention enormously entertaining!
The nine-day program will kick off with an incredible celebration at The Line in Footscray, with performances by renowned singer-songwriter, Alice Skye, The Dusty Millers and Ziggy Ramo
Other acts to perform in West Set include Huntly, Sugarfried Leopards, Gordon Koang, Donald’s House, Culte, Ruby Jones, Ausecuma Beats, Allara Briggs, Tracey McNeil, Greya Joesphine, Footscray Gypsies as well as many other local musicians.
Each Act brings its own special flavour of music to be enjoyed in some of Footscray’s coolest venues, both old and new, including Sloth Bar, Hop Nation, Pride of Footscray, The Line, Footscray Hotel, The Night Heron, Littlefoot Bar, Kindred Studios, The Creators Lounge and Counterweight Vinyl.
In addition to presenting a vast array of music genres and styles, the program will also feature a professional development workshop focusing on the pros/cons of making music independently in Australia.
