COVID-19 community response line

If you have been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have established a dedicated support service that you can access free of charge.

To access our free COVID-19 community response line phone 9688 0434 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

For all other Council related enquiries please call our Customer Service team on 9688 0200 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday except public holidays.

For after hours assistance please call 9688 0200.  After hours assistance can only be provided for matters that are directly related to Council services or functions.

Have you met Mari-bot?

Mari-bot is our virtual Customer Service Officer that you can interact with to help find the information you are looking for on our website.

Mari-bot will ask you about your enquiry and then direct you through to the information you need.  If Marib-bot isn't able to find exactly what you are looking for you can simply ask Mari-bot to direct you to a Customer Service team member for a online live chat.  You can even ask Mari-bot to translate the online live chat into numerous languages.

Please note the live chat option is only available 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

Council facilities opening hours

The health and wellbeing of our community and our employees continues to be our priority.  With that in mind, our facilities will be open to the public during the times outlined below.

Please note the following is provided as a guide only and opening hours may be subject to change without notice.


Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre

Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre opening hours are:

  • 5.45am to 10pm, Monday to Friday
  • 8am to 6.15pm, weekends and on public holidays.

Bookings are essential to access:

  • The warm water exercise pool
  • The sauna, spa and steam room
  • Group fitness classes
  • Child care.

While bookings are not required for the lap or leisure pools or the gymnasium attendance numbers are limited.

Braybrook Library

Braybrook Library is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 2pm on Saturdays.

Footscray Library

Footscray Library is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday.

Maribyrnong Library

Maribyrnong Library is open from 1pm to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

West Footscray Library

Opening hours for the West Footscray Library are as follows:

Maidstone Community Centre

Maidstone Community Centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday except public holidays.

Until March 2021, our facilities on weekends and outside of usual business hours will not be available for hire.

When attending the Centre you must register using the available QR code which you can access upon entry to the Centre.

Maribyrnong Community Centre

Maribyrnong Community Centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday except public holidays.

Facilities at the Centre are not available for hire until further notice.

Yarraville Community Centre

Yarraville Community Centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4pm on Fridays.

Bluestone Church Arts Space

The Bluestone Church Arts Space is now available for hire.

Due to current COVIDSafe regulations, the maximum occupancy of the venue is 75 people, inclusive of all artists, crew and audience.  Anyone using the facility or attending a performance must follow the COVIDSafe Plan, including registering attendance with our QR code.

Council reserves the right to modify occupancy of the venue or cancel bookings pending State Government public health advice.

Phoenix Youth Centre

Phoenix Youth Centre is currently closed until further notice, however you can still contact the Centre by phoning 9091 4700 or send an email to phoenix@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au

RecWest Braybrook

RecWest Braybrook is open during the following hours:

  • Angliss Seniors Centre
  • West Footscray Seniors Centre
  • Yarraville Seniors Centre.

Testing sites

To locate your nearest testing site please visit the DHHS website.

New testing sites and hours of operation are regularly updated so we recommend, where possible, contacting the testing site before attending.

You can also view waiting times at various testing sites via the DHHS website to assist in choosing the testing site that's right for you.

COVID-19 financial hardship

To support those in our community directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Council has developed a COVID-19 Financial Hardship Policy.

Maternal and child health appointments

Face to face maternal and child health appointments are now available in addition to online video appointments including telehealth.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday except public holidays, and a limited number of appointments are available on Saturday mornings only.

Appointment times can vary and we can advise of available times at the time of booking your appointment.

One adult only is permitted to accompany their child/children to the immunisation appointment. No other family members/carers will be permitted entry.

Attendance at Council meetings

Council and Committee meetings continue as scheduled however, public access is via our live stream service.

Subscribe to Council’s YouTube channel where you can access past recordings of Council meetings.

Members of the public can submit questions for public question time via email to governance@maribyrnong.vic,gov.au.  Questions must be submitted before 4pm on the day of the meeting.
