The program provides multi-year operational funding to organisations based in, or with a long history of delivering programs in Maribyrnong. The investment supports everything from day-to-day operations and artistic programming to audience development, community participation and opportunities for local artists.
Recognising the value of a strong creative sector, Council increased the Triennial Arts Partner funding pool by $100,000 in the 2026-27 Budget, bringing the total annual investment to $495,500.
Mayor Cr Mohamed Semra said the funding would help local organisations continue creating inclusive and community-focused arts experiences.
"Maribyrnong is renowned for its creativity, diversity and cultural vibrancy, and our local arts organisations are at the heart of what makes our City unique," Mayor Semra said.
"This investment gives organisations the confidence to plan for the future, support local artists, strengthen community connections and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience and participate in arts and culture."
The 2026-29 Triennial Arts Partner Program attracted 22 applications, with 16 organisations recommended for funding following assessment by an independent peer panel. The program delivers on Council's New Horizons: Creative Maribyrnong 2030 strategy and supports the priorities of the Council Plan 2025-29.
