Section 112(3) of the Local Government Act 2020 (Vic) provides that any purchase or compulsory acquisition of land by a Council must be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Community Engagement Policy.

As such, this Public Notice serves to inform the Maribyrnong community of the following acquisition by Maribyrnong City Council (Council):

  1. Property: 5-11 Kingston Street, Yarraville.
  2. Day of Sale: 27 November 2025.
  3. Settlement Date: 27 January 2026.
  4. Purchase Price: $2,550,000 plus gst.
  5. Purpose: the Property has been acquired for strategic purposes. Council owns the abutting property at 1 Little David Street, Yarraville which has restricted access. Acquiring the Property improves access to Council’s existing property and increases its landholding which improves Council’s position to plan for future community needs.
