My Smart Garden

My Smart Garden is a collaborative sustainable gardening program delivered by local councils, designed to help our community adapt to climate change and increasing resource pressures. The program supports residents to transform outdoor spaces, such as backyards, front yards, balconies, courtyards and even pots, into productive, resilient and functional gardens.

The program is free for residents, schools, community groups and businesses, and encourages ‘smart gardening’ through practical workshops, community events, online resources, incentives and opportunities to connect with others in the community.

The My Smart Garden program is guided by 5 key themes, ensuring that anything and everything gardening is covered, while still focusing on sustainability, resilience and longevity.

You can sign up to the monthly My Smart Garden newsletter, where you’ll receive seasonal gardening tips, practical advice, event invitations, competitions and more.

My Smart Garden is proudly supported by Maribyrnong, Stonnington, Yarra, Moonee Valley, Hobsons Bay, Merri-bek, Wyndham and Brimbank councils.
