Future Footscray Steering Group
Council has established the Future Footscray Steering Group to bring together key stakeholders and guide the ongoing revitalisation of central Footscray.
In accordance with its Terms of Reference, the Steering Group will help provide advice on priorities and actions, and support collaboration between business, community and government partners.
The Steering Group will have 20 members, drawn from several categories. To view the member categories expand the panel below.
Steering Group Membership
Council / Council Officers
- Mayor (1)
- One Ward Councillor (delegate)
- Director Planning & Environment (or delegate)
- Footscray Revitalisation Lead (Executive Officer).
State Government
- Local Member for Footscray (1)
- Senior officer from Department of Transport and Planning (1).
Key Organisations
- Vice Chancellor or delegate from Victoria University (1)
- CEO or delegate from Western Health (1)
- CEO or delegate from Cohealth (1)
- CEO or delegate from Unison Housing (1).
Business, Residents and Property Owners
- Four (4) representatives of businesses in the centre (variety of sectors and precincts, multicultural profile encouraged)
- Two (2) representatives of major property owners in the centre
- One (1) representative from Footscray Community Arts
- Two (2) residents of Footscray (at least one aged 18–30).
Professional Advisors
- One (1) Independent Chair.

Expressions of interest have now closed.
Tenure
The independent Chair and Steering Group Members will be appointed for a term that concludes in June 2027, in line with the Future Footscray Steering Group Terms of Reference.
