Annual Budget

2025-2026 Budget

Council's 2026/27 Annual Budget commits $153.8 million to support the delivery of essential services and community initiatives.

A further $91.45 million has been committed to capital projects to build and maintain the infrastructure our community needs.

This Budget follows a robust engagement process which attracted over 1,700 community responses across two stages of feedback.

Given the community feedback Council heard – such as preferences for open space, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, local infrastructure and amenity improvements, and focus on sustainability and the environment – Council has endorsed:

  • Almost $22.5 million for RecWest and Shorten Reserve
  • Over $13 million for the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre Splash Park
  • $7 million for Creative West
  • $4.5 million for Summerhill Road renewal
  • Almost $7.5 million for Footscray CBD upgrades and Nicholson Street footpath upgrades
  • $1.1 million on parks and gardens upgrades in Wattle Ward, including $150,000 for Bell Reserve upgrade and $100,000 for McIvor Reserve Dog Park upgrade.
