Highpoint Activity Centre, Maribyrnong

The existing bulky goods and industrial area to the west and south-west of Highpoint Shopping Centre was rezoned in 2016 to facilitate a medium rise mixed use activity centre.

The Highpoint Urban Design Framework guides the future development of the precinct, with a range of retail, office, bulky goods and residential development of varying scale expected over the next 20 years.

As of December 2025, the following applications have been approved:

  • 19-21 White Street, 12 storey building containing retail at ground floor, 268 dwellings and approximately 290 car parking spaces.

  • 14-16 Williamson Road, 10 storey building containing retail at ground floor, offices and 124 dwellings with approximately 170 car parking spaces.

  • 82-96 Hampstead Road, 157 townhouses (12 x four storey & 145 x three storey) with over 450 car parking spaces.

  • 7 Sloane Street, 10 storey building containing retail at ground floor, 28 dwellings and 28 car parking spaces.

  • 41 Warrs Road, a 10-storey residential building that contains 400 apartments.

  • 191 Rosamond Road, a storey mixed-use development that contains 620 apartments and commercial tenancy at ground floor. The building height varies from 4 to 13 storeys. The planning permit was issued by VCAT.

  • 200 Rosamond Road, 10-storey office building.

In addition, Council has approved the Highpoint Shopping Centre Development Plan, which will guide the future development of the shopping centre precinct over the next 20-30 years.
