Footscray Community Garden and Learning Place
About Us
Many of us crave purposeful activity outdoors, a feeling of connection with others, or the satisfaction of making a contribution to our community. Footscray Community Garden and Learning Place has been set up to help meet those needs while producing fresh food for those experiencing food insecurity.
We are a true community garden: there are no individual plots. We simply believe in the benefits - to our community and to our own well-being - of working together to create something beautiful.
We are establishing a composting hub, have started propagating in our greenhouse, and regularly harvest produce to go to local food programs. We run regular working bees and workshops.
Location
The Footscray Garden and Learning Place is located at 30A Pickett Street, Footscray (behind the red brick building that sits in the car park, next to the bluestone church hall).
