NAIDOC Week

National NAIDOC Week, an annual event that celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, is held in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday) across Australia.

It is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country.

NAIDOC Week 2025 Theme

The theme for this year's NAIDOC week is: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.  The theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of First Nations ancestors.
