The 2020 Sons of the West program has been postponed
The health and wellbeing of our program participants, volunteers and staff are our priority and to ensure we protect our community during the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2020 Sons of the West program has been postponed.
This decision was made by Council and the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation with the best interest of our participants in mind. We do hope to deliver a program this year when we can ensure your safety.
The program will be postponed for at least 12-weeks, please stay tuned for updates.
What is the Sons of the West Program?
This free 10-week health program aims to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of men living, working or recreating in the City of Maribyrnong. Each week the program includes one hour of health education followed by one hour of physical activity, suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.
Some of the health topics covered in the workshops include:
- mental fitness
- cancer prevention
- gamblers help
- alcohol cultures
- gender equity
- cultural diversity
- heart health
