Walking on stone and cement, it can be hard to remember what it feels like to have earth beneath our feet. What do we, as 21st Century Australians, think it means to be “on Country?” By opening up the Acknowledgement of Country and taking a closer look within it, Na Djinang Circus hopes to re-discover a connection we once had.
Of The Land On Which We Meet, a new show from First Nations-led company Na Djinang Circus, uses acrobatics, contemporary dance, and aerial performance to follow the journey of three contemporary Australian circus artists with distinct relationships with Country: an Indigenous Australian, a descendant of migrants, and a descendant of colonial settlers.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm show. The show is 70 minutes in duration.
This show is recommended for audiences aged 12 years and over. There is mild swearing. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that the work contains voices of people who have passed away.
