Open House Melbourne returns in 2025 with an exciting series of talks and tours based on the theme Stories of the City.

Cities are much more than just bricks and mortar, they're about history, migration, community, environment, innovation, resilience and the future. 

This year the City of Maribyrnong hosts eight fascinating places to explore all with their own story to tell:

• Footscray Heritage Theatres Tour - A guided walking tour walking tour exploring the rich history of Footscray’s heritage theatres 
• Footscray Market - A tasting tour exploring the iconic market renowned for its vibrant food culture
• Footscray Park - A guided walk through the memorial garden and the largest and most intact Edwardian Park in Australia
• Footscray Town Hall - Go behind the scenes with DesignInc architect and representatives from the Footscray Historical Society to learn about the history and future of this Romanesque building
• Maurice and I - A feature-length documentary celebrating the brutalist architectural designs of Christchurch
• Mission Whitten Oval - Western Bulldogs Football Club - Explore the public areas of the precinct at your leisure with opportunities to visit the Victoria University High Performance Centre
• Sun Theatre - Join a tour of the cinema to go behind the scenes and watch a history newsreel screening in one of the theatres
• West Gate Tunnel Project Veloway: behind the barriers experience - Walk 500m of the veloway yet to be opened to bike traffic

Tours require bookings with first release tickets sales on Wednesday 2 July with second release on Saturday 5 July.
