Children’s Week kicks off later this month, celebrating the right of children to enjoy childhood.
Taking place from 19-28 October, the Week provides the perfect opportunity for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities.
Thousands of people around the country are involved in activities that focus the attention of the wider community on children, their needs and achievements.
We will be celebrating Children’s Week with a range of events in the City of Maribyrnong.
Animal farm at MAC
Saturday 20 October, 10am – 2pm
Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre
Celebrate Children's Week at MAC and visit our farm friends when the animal farm stops by.

Maidstone Open Day
Monday 22 October, 10am – 4.30pm
Maidstone Child and Family Centre
Join us at the Maidstone Child and Family Centre for a day of fun activities, including storytime, music, and arts and crafts. Information about services for families with young children will also be available.

Our Story is Intercultural
Wednesday 24 October, 10am – 1pm
Central West Shopping Centre
Celebrate our cultural diversity this Children’s Week with an event jam packed with fun for the whole family. With face painting, storytime with the Mayor, henna art, children’s craft, Wurundjeri indigenous session, gardening activities, and much more, there is sure to be something for everyone.
There will also be information about services for family with young children, and a signing that will demonstrate Maribyrnong’s commitment to being an intercultural city.

Magic at Braybrook
Thursday 25 October, 12 – 2pm
Braybrook Community Hub
Abracadabra… celebrate the magic of Children’s Week at Braybrook Community Hub! Be wowed by Manny the Magician, and join us for fun activities including storytime, arts and crafts, and football. There will also be a sausage sizzle and plenty of information about services for families with young children.
