This winter you are invited to take part in Council’s two week fitness challenge, the Winter Warrior Series.

Taking place from 29 July to 11 August, the inaugural Winter Warrior Series is designed to keep the community active in the cooler months and embrace an active lifestyle alongside our Australian athletes competing in the Paris Olympic Games.

The Series, which includes 60 free recreational activities hosted across 16 local venues across the City of Maribyrnong, will include a daily theme to encourage participants to get into the fitness spirit.

With a variety of activities suitable across all ages, such as the family fitness class at RecWest, Tai Chi for older adults and women’s Muay Thai, there is something for everyone.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in fun competitions with multiple prizes up for grabs.

Registrations are will open on Monday 15 July, visit: maribyrnong.vic.gov.au/winter-warrior

Mayor, Cr Cuc Lam believes that this program will be the perfect antidote to the winter blues.

“The Winter Warrior Series is a great opportunity for our community to come together, stay active, and be inspired by the incredible dedication of our Olympians. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just looking to try something new, you will find an activity that suits your lifestyle,” Mayor Lam said.
