Following significant community interest and numerous submissions opposing the terms of the proposed lease of the Bulldogs Community Children’s Centre, Council has made the decision to conclude the community engagement process earlier than originally planned.

Further to this, Council also resolved to consider a further report addressing options for the proposed lease, inclusive of the retention of the not-for-profit clause.

All individuals and organisations who provided submissions will be formally notified that the community engagement process has been terminated and that the proposed lease will not proceed in its current form.

Mayor, Cr Pradeep Tiwari expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the consultation process.

“We’ve heard from many of you through submissions and direct conversations. We sincerely appreciate every single one of your views and the time you took to share them. Thank you again to our community for your engagement, your voices continue to shape our City,” said Mayor Tiwari.

A report will now be prepared and presented to Council in late 2025. This report will outline the available options regarding the proposed lease, including the retention of the not-for-profit requirement for any sub-leasing arrangements, and the removal of the first right of refusal in the new lease.
