Contaminated sediment from the Creek continues to be processed and treated on site and transported off site to a secure landfill site.

Desilting works towards Paramount Road will recommence early next week, weather permitting. A 300 metre section remains and is scheduled for completion by the end of July.

Melbourne Water continues to regularly monitor conditions in the Creek.

The draft Stony Creek Rehabilitation Plan is now available for community feedback. Visit Melbourne Water’s Stony Creek Rehabilitation Your Say page to download a copy of the plan and submit your feedback by Wednesday 31 July. Community feedback will be incorporated into the final plan to ensure it aligns with expectations, values and aspirations.

EPA’s ongoing advice is:

  • Avoid contact with the water in Stony Creek.
  • Don’t walk along the edge of Stony Creek.
  • Don't let pets swim in the area or drink the water.
  • As a precaution avoid eating fish from Stony Creek.
  • Seek medical help if you feel unwell.
