City Amenity Programs
Our City Amenity teams are committed to maintaining the municipality to a standard that is safe, clean, and welcoming for the community.
Graffiti Removal
Graffiti is taken seriously by Council and proactive inspections are conducted across the municipality. Once reported, graffiti removal works may take up to 15 working days, weather dependent.
Please note that council does not remove graffiti from:
- within any property line
- residential and commercial properties (unless deemed offensive)
- on hoarding of building sites
Graffiti removal vouchers are available for eligible residential or business requests. Vouchers include:
- 500ml of graffiti removal product
- 4 litres of exterior paint
- Paint roller and tray kit
Commercial properties are eligible for two vouchers if required.
Illegally dumped rubbish
Dumped rubbish of any sort is illegal and infringements are issued to offenders. Proactive inspections are conducted in public spaces across the municipality to remove waste or report waste for removal by contractors (contractor removal may take up to 10 working days). Dumped rubbish on private property is referred back to the property owner or body corporate. Residents may be entitled to one Hard Waste Collection per year. Make a booking or contact our customer service team to learn more.
Charity bins are in various carparks and provide a valuable service to the community. Please ensure any items placed in these bins are suitable for reuse. This is not a location to dump any other unwanted items as the cost of removal and disposal is incurred by the charity.
Syringes and drug paraphernalia found in public places can be reported to Council. To make a report please include location details and a photo. Syringe collection requests are a priority and completed within one working day. Council does not collected syringes from private properties.
Street sweeping
The municipality is divided into sweeping zones and all streets are scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks. Our heavy leaf fall season, runs from April through to November and varies depending on tree species in the area. During this time, sweeping may need to be adjusted to respond to the increased volume of debris.
While we aim to maintain a high standard of service, some delays may occur due to factors such as staff availability, equipment downtime, or urgent works taking priority.
Service requests are inspected by a senior cleansing officer who assesses whether:
- the issue presents a safety hazard
- it impedes access for emergency services
- the issue can be resolved within the service standard timeframe (10 working days for street sweeping)
If no hazard is present, and the area is scheduled in the sweeping cycle, the request may be closed with notes indicating it will be addressed through the program.
Overflowing bins
The Cleansing team is responsible for public litter bins on our streets and in our parks (non-domestic/commercial bins). These services are conducted 7 days per week for street bins and 5-7 days per week for park bins (seasonal service). Please report overflowing public bins to Council.
