The Spring into Summer Series runs from Saturday 7 November to Sunday 6 December 2026 and we are looking for local health, fitness, and sport professionals to run exciting activities for our community.
About Spring into Summer Series
The Series runs for four weeks each year, typically between November and December.
Residents can participate in a range of free activities throughout our City during the program.
All programs are delivered by experienced local health, fitness and sport professionals with options suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
We're currently seeking program facilitators who are interested in being part of Spring into Summer 2026. To be part of Spring into Summer Series you’ll need to design, plan, and deliver an activity at the same day, time and location between 6 November to 7 December 2026.
Programs should be designed to promote activity and help our residents improve their health and wellbeing.

About program funding
Maribyrnong City Council provides funding to support program facilitators, clubs and associations that will deliver programs for Spring into Summer Series. Programs in the series are run by local health and fitness professionals over four-weeks with options for all abilities, ages and fitness levels.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Suitably qualified or experienced in the area of expertise
- Funds to be used towards a 4-week recreational opportunity
- Be delivering the program within the boundaries of the City of Maribyrnong
- Have Public Liability Insurance cover of $20 million
- Have no outstanding grant acquittals or debt owing to Council
If you do not have not-for profit status, ABN number or Public Liability Insurance you may still be eligible to apply via an auspice organisation.
Not eligible for funding:
- Programs that do not align with Council policies and values
- Programs already funded or partly funded by any Council funding program
- Festivals
- Programs that are the primary responsibility of other levels of Government
- Programs that duplicate existing programs
- Fundraisers and awards
- Capital works and facilities maintenance
- Programs with a religious or political focus
- Educational institutions unless working in partnership with an eligible organisation
Assessment Criteria
Each application will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Does the program’s target community align with one or more Councils identified priority communities?
- Will the budget be spent on delivery and promotion of the program?
- Will the program get people physically and/or mentally stimulated Does the program align with council’s child safety standards?
- Not be a high-risk sport or recreational activity.
- Council has a commitment to social justice and equity.
The following applications will be prioritised:
- First Nations led programs
- Programs from or developed in partnership with one or more of Councils identified priority communities:
- CALD communities
- LGBTIQA+ people
- Young people (12-25)
- Older people (65+)
- People living with a disability.
Requirements of successful applicants
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Complete application form
- Complete a risk assessment
- Provide EFT details and an invoice
- Meet requirements of any relevant permits and permissions
- Hold $20M public liability insurance cover for the duration of the grant
- Complete a Child Safe Compliance Assessment and Declaration
- Meet monitoring and reporting requirements
- Deliver the program between Saturday 7 November to Sunday 6 December 2026.
