Guided Walk through Historical Footscray Park
Discover the park’s many treasures from curator David Matthews’s vision, to the platypus fountain, the Thomson Water Gardens, the recently restored Wisteria Arbour and the new children’s playground.
Located on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, Footscray Park is Australia’s finest remaining Edwardian gardens. Constructed in 1916, the park contains many of the original plantings and ornamentations. The park was the first to be added to the Victorian Heritage Register in 1996.
