Open House Melbourne 2021

OHM Town Hall

Ever wanted to have a look around Footscray Town Hall? Join us from the comfort of your own home for a 3D digital tour around our heritage listed building as part of the 2021 Open House Melbourne online program.

Originally built in 1936 the Footscray Town Hall has been extended over several stages, with the last construction works completed in June 1984. Today, it is still home to the Mayor, Councillors and Council Staff along with Customer Service and is set for a major redevelopment.

Take an unguided walk through the heritage part of the building at your own pace in this 3D virtual tour.

Climb the grand staircase, read the honour wall, stand on the balcony and zoom in on the exquisite detail of the ceilings, columns and stonework. This is a rare opportunity to discover the history within the Town Hall’s corridors and chamber without a guide.

Once you take the digital walk trough of Town Hall, ask any questions you have about the building and its history via the Facebook event, via messenger or email Festival.City@maribyrnong.vic.gov.au and former City of Maribyrnong Mayor, Bill Horrocks and his wife Heather will endeavour to answer all questions once restrictions have eased and the original planned Q&A session has been filmed and shared.
