Council has endorsed its four key plans that together form the strategic direction of how we will operate over the next four years.

At yesterday’s Council meeting, the Council Plan 2025-29, Financial Plan 2025-35, Asset Plan 2025-35, and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-29 were all endorsed. Together, these form part of Council’s Integrated Planning Framework.

The new Community Vision was also endorsed: A sustainable, vibrant city where history is acknowledged, differences are respected, a diverse communities are supported to connect and thrive.

The 12-month process to develop these plans began in July 2024, and since then, Council has engaged with more than 2,900 people and received over 1,000 individual comments. The community shared feedback via online surveys, in-person conversations, the Foundations for Tomorrow deliberative engagement workshops, multiple kitchen table conversations, a deliberative survey, and a two-way community conversation tool, Hello Lamp Post.

City of Maribyrnong Mayor, Cr Pradeep Tiwari said the plans are reflective of the community who contributed to their development.

“Providing feedback for these plans is one of the most significant opportunities our community has to help influence Council decision-making over the next four years,” Mayor Tiwari said.

“Council is here to serve the community and to work with them to create the positive change we want to see in our City – which is evident in the new Community Vision and strategic direction,” he continued.
