Bellairs Park: a dry grassed space

Council will revitalise Bellairs Park in Yarraville following community feedback on the Bellairs Park Concept Plan.

“This great local park will be refreshed with new plantings and equipment, providing something for everyone in this residential area of Yarraville,” said City of Maribyrnong Mayor, Cr Pradeep Tiwari.

The upgrade of the 1,000 square metre site was noted as a high priority in Council’s Open Space Strategy and the plans include a new nature play area to replace the old play equipment that was removed in late-2024.

The endorsed Concept Plan will see Bellairs Park transformed into a green, multiuse space with a central lawn, shaded seating, paths, new trees, and a nature play area.

“Connecting with residents earlier this year helped us understand more about what this community needs in a local park and make adjustments to the Concept Plan,” added Mayor Tiwari.

The park will become a dog on-lead area with off-lead time between 6-8am daily to make sure everyone has a chance to enjoy the park.

The Concept Plan also includes flexibility for an additional dog off-lead window in the future, based on park use and community feedback.
