Proposed improvement works

In mid-2021, Council will be undertaking construction of new facilities at Thompson Reserve to better support dog off-lead activity.  The project is funded by the Victorian Government Local Parks Program.

The works will improve the amenity of the space by providing:

  • a sheltered seating area.
  • dog agility equipment.
  • site furniture including drinking fountain, rubbish bins, bike racks and disposal bag dispenser to clean up after dogs.
  • additional garden bed and tree plantings.

Special feature

Pipedreams by renowned Australian public sculptor and designer, Matthew Harding stands 8 metres high and 12 metres wide and is sculptured from fabricated marine grade stainless steel.

From dusk until midnight this striking piece of public art comes to life by incorporating changing patterns of light.
