Location of works

The new cricket practice facility is located behind the existing Hanmer reserve sporting pavilion.

Funding the works

The works were funded through a $400,000 partnership with the Victorian Government through the West Gate Tunnel Project’s West Gate Neighbourhood Fund.

What the works include

The works include:

  • Civil works
  • Concrete base slab construction
  • New solid mesh external fencing
  • New internal soft netting dividers and roof structure
  • Synthetic grass installation
  • Lighting
  • Connecting pathway works.

These works will provide a modern and compliant four lane cricket practice net facility for the local sporting clubs, replacing the outdated nets located on Hanmer Oval. These works will occur at the same time that Cowper Street is being developed and the West Gate Tunnel Project’s Harris Street walking and cycling paths are being constructed.
