Winter Coat Drive back for 2022
Published on 16 June 2022
Have clean, unwanted winter woollies, like a coat, jacket, scarf or beanie you want to donate? Drop them off at one of our five library locations throughout June and July as part of the annual Winter Coat Drive, to help make someone’s winter a bit warmer.
Now in its sixth year, the annual Winter Coat Drive makes use of pre-loved coats and smaller winter items like beanies, gloves and scarves, and passes them on to someone in need.
If you need a coat all you have to do is pick one up from the racks at Footscray or Braybrook Libraries, no questions asked. The coat racks are on display at Braybrook and Footscray Library until the end of July, and warm garments can be left with library staff at any of the Maribyrnong Libraries branches.
Donate winter items here:
- Braybrook Library: 139 Churchill Ave, Braybrook
- Footscray Library: 56 Paisley Street, Footscray
- Yarraville Library: 32 Wembley Ave, Yarraville
- Maribyrnong Library: 200 Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong
- West Footscray Library: 539 Barkly Street, West Footscray
Collect a clean garment from:

Message from the Mayor, Councillor Anthony Tran
It’s great to see our community coming together to support each other, especially as we head into winter, and the Winter Coat Drive is a great way you can lend a hand.
I encourage you all to dig into your wardrobes and pull out the winter woollies that have already served you well – and give them a new life with someone in need.
