Following the success of the Sustainability Youth Summit 2025 for Primary School Students, Maribyrnong City Council is offering the Sustainability Youth Summit again in 2026, this time for Secondary School Students.

The Summit is a one-day event organised by Maribyrnong City Council and is facilitated by CERES. It provides an opportunity for students who have demonstrated an interest in sustainability, environment and leadership to come together from different schools across the municipality.

Approximately 15 students from each school will participate depending on the number of participating schools.

Students will reflect on current sustainability practices within their school community, develop their leadership skills, create a sustainability vision, build networks and begin to develop action plans to take back to school. The program is facilitated from a place of hope and action.

“CERES inspired and engaged our students to be agents of change in their school community by educating them on how they can make a difference through realistic and actionable initiatives.” - Teacher attendee at the 2024 Sustainability Youth Summit
